Like most equestrians, im always looking for the best value for money. Our hobby is expensive and the small amount of money I spend on myself has to be spent wisely.
A majority of the tried and tested reviews I have read are focused on items of a higher price point, which although amazing quality, a good portion of equestrians (like myself) just cannot afford to splash out that much.
Due to this, im always on the lookout for new brands, that are good quality and importantly a good price point. With Raptor Equine, I believe I have found exactly that!

A bit about Raptor
Raptor Equine is a small family business based in Cornwall. The business was built by a mother and two-daughter team with a focus on quality and affordability. I initially discovered this brand through a livery at my yard who was a brand ambassador and decided to give them a try!
Raptor Riding Tights – First Impressions
Personally, the pictures on the website don’t do the Raptor Riding Tights justice. When you see them in person, they have a sleek and professional appearance while offering exceptional comfort.
The high waist of these tights provides excellent support without feeling uncomfortably tight. The four-way stretch they offer allows for comfortable riding and yard work. Additionally, they come in a wide range of colours, catering to various preferences, from vibrant shades to more neutral tones. They even have a white competition pair with subtle branding, which I personally use for shows.
One crucial aspect for me is the phone pocket. I rely on Equilab to track my rides, and having my phone readily accessible is a must. These tights feature generously sized, deep, and secure pockets, making them ideal for storing your phone. In contrast, other riding tights I’ve tried often have either too narrow pockets or none at all.
Furthermore, these tights offer a great fit around the ankle, a feature I particularly appreciate. There’s nothing worse than riding tights that constrict your movement around the ankle. These tights provide the flexibility I need to move freely and keep my heels down in the saddle without any issues.

Sizing
The website advises going up a size if you’re between sizes, a recommendation I followed, resulting in a good fit. Overall, their sizing guidance proved to be accurate. While there are no options for different leg lengths, which is understandable for a small business, I found that both sizes 10 and 12 fit me well in terms of leg length. Sizes range from 4 – 20.
Other Comments
I also value the silicone print seat as it provides an added grip, which can be especially handy if your horse tends to be spicy! The only minor drawback I can think of is that the branding might not suit everyone’s taste. Personally, I find the branding on the riding tights to be quite subtle, so it doesn’t bother me.
These riding tights are a hidden gem. I’ve worn them extensively and consequently washed them frequently, yet their grip hasn’t been compromised, and the logos remain intact. This is particularly satisfying for me, as one of my pet peeves is when logos start to flake off.
Overall…
I rate the Raptor Equine Riding Tights a solid 9/10. The quality is great as it is the price point. Colour options are varied and suitable for different tastes. The size range is also inclusive, ranging from size 4 – 20. As mentioned above, the branding may not be to everyone’s taste. The website (at the time of writing) is also a bit tricky to navigate.
I wholeheartedly recommend getting yourself a pair. I currently own three, and I’m already eyeing another for my next purchase 👀
